Julie Vahle - Principal

My name is Julie Vahle, and I am honored to serve the Castlio community as Principal. Prior to becoming a Castlio Cougar, I was a principal in Wentzville School District for four years, and I taught music at Rebecca Boone Elementary in Warren County and John Weldon Elementary in the Francis Howell School District. My leadership philosophy centers around collaboration, continuous student growth, and fostering a school culture where every child feels valued, safe, and inspired to succeed. I am deeply committed to open communication, transparency, and building a strong, inclusive community within our building.

When I am not at Castlio, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids. We enjoy music, theatre, games, and just being together. Joining the Castlio family is an incredible privilege, and I am eager to partner with our dedicated staff, talented students, and supportive families to continue the school's wonderful traditions of excellence.

Tegan Milford - Assistant Principal

My name is Tegan Milford, and I am an Assistant Principal at Castlio Elementary. I joined the Castlio community in 2019. Prior to serving Castlio in the Assistant Principal role, I was an Administrative Intern & Reading Specialist at John Weldon Elementary and a third grade teacher at Fairmount Elementary in the Francis Howell School District. I have a Master’s Degree in Elementary Administration and a Master’s in Special Reading K-12 from UMSL as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Missouri State University.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy visiting St. Louis attractions like the Zoo, local parks, and baseball games at Busch Stadium.

I enjoy being a part of the Castlio community and love to see our students learn and grow each day.

Melinda Gray - Assistant Principal

Hi Castlio families! I'm Mindy Gray, and I'm excited to join the Castlio community as Assistant Principal. Education has always been my passion, and I've had the privilege of teaching kindergarten, fourth grade, and fifth grade in both Kansas City and St. Louis. I believe schools should be places where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to grow. Learning happens best when people feel connected, take risks, learn from mistakes, and know they have a team cheering them on.

My husband and I both attended Northwest Missouri State University (Go Bearcats!), and we have two sons who keep us busy with sports and activities year-round. When I'm not at school or cheering from the sidelines, you'll find me walking, biking, swimming, trying new restaurants, or exploring with my family. I'm thrilled and honored to be a part of the Castlio family, and look forward to learning and growing together to make the world a better place.
